Agency Fund Accelerator
The Agency Fund
An implementation-focused accelerator that embeds engineers, behavioral scientists, and product managers directly into nonprofit teams to co-build and stress-test AI solutions in two-week sprints. Its second cohort is running; watch for the next.
Who it's really for. Existing nonprofits with a measurable outcome they want to move, not a product they want to build. The Agency Fund's model is to send its own engineers, behavioral scientists and product managers into your team for two-week sprints, so the ideal applicant has a live service, real users and data, and a leadership team willing to make room for outsiders. It suits organizations in health, education, livelihoods and financial inclusion particularly well, and the fund has a strong Global South footprint.
What you get. An embedded technical team rather than a cheque: hands-on co-building, rapid testing of AI features against your actual outcomes, and the fund's behavioral science lens on whether the tool changes what users do. Organizations typically come out with a working AI component and the evidence to fund it further.
How to apply and what to watch. The second cohort is underway; a third has not been announced as of our last check, so this listing is "coming soon." Cohort announcements have been irregular, which is exactly what the ImpactOpen digest is for. If you cannot wait, NetHope's AI Accelerator is the closest adoption-focused alternative, and the PJMF Data Practice Accelerator offers a similar embedded-team model for data infrastructure.
