Atlassian Foundation Collective Action Open Call
Atlassian Foundation
The Atlassian Foundation is deploying US$8 million over two years through its first open call under a new collective action strategy, backing coalitions that are working to improve education for disadvantaged learners in the AI era. The foundation is explicit that this is not about AI for its own sake: it wants initiatives that help the education sector respond to AI so that technology closes gaps for disadvantaged learners rather than widening them, and that can include deliberate, reasoned choices not to use AI. Each partnership gets funding, a place in a peer learning cohort, and optional free access to Atlassian's teamwork tools and support.
What they're looking for
Applications must meet all three criteria:
- Direct relief of disadvantage: Work that directly relieves poverty or disadvantage for a clearly identified beneficiary group, not the general public.
- Collective action: Multiple players working together through shared goals, delivery and learning.
- Evolving education in the AI era: Helping education at any level adapt so emerging technology closes gaps for disadvantaged learners.
